“I told them it was not about the money, and soon enough; I’ll prove it” –So$a Man
…And proved it he did, releasing quite a number of advance copies of his 3-years-in-the-making; highly anticipated; debut album entitled–DREAMLAND. If you haven’t already heard of International Island sensation–Brandon “So$a Man” Major, we’re willing to bet you’ve already heard his chart-topping lead single–”iDream.” A rather wise choice to precede the well thought out record, being that the single almost embodies not just the entire album, but everything the singer/rapper seems to wanna project of his current state in mind and music.

BIO:
The History of So$a Man proves that an artist can still start from ground zero and rise to independent success. Over the past 5 years, So$a Man has released 8 mix tape/albums, organized over 20 successful independent events with major sponsors and opened up for top-selling international artists including; Bobby Valentino, Buju Banton & Lil Wayne. Although his career has just begun he has already made Bahamian music history by becoming the first Bahamian Hip Hop artist to receive video play on the Caribbean network Tempo. He continues to receive video play with his video releases “Shawty” [Source...]
.
In the past year, So$a has proven himself to be the “Man of The Year” as his aptly titled 2nd single. In the club banger, [amongst our favourites from the album]; the artist continues to speak of dreams finally being realised, and funny enough–pokes fun at himself in a hilarious outro to the hype single, voicing the usual thoughts of the average Bahamian hater ^.^
.
So$a’s loyalty, dedication and burden of pushing that “242 Movement” can almost be felt if not heard in “Dreamland’s” –”Bahamas 2 The World” track. Listening to the project in it’s entirety, one’s initial thought is “this can’t be Bahamian,” but sure enough it is, as So$a sets new precedents as far as Bahamian music quality and presentation is concerned. The album is best described as a feel good, inspirational, “we finally made it” type of party. An absolute must have for any music enthusiast–local or international!!
.
Dreamland offers up a little something for everyone, with a few Hip-Hop tracks, a little R&B and even a bit of house music with his instant hit–”Too Sexy.” Florida Diva–Dragonfly’s cut featuring Sos and in a smart twist–appears as the bonus joint on the album!!!
.
With the likes of Stypz–Sniper, Showtime Shaddy, Sammi Starr, MDeez, DJ MayDay and Rik Carey appearing in Dreamland’s amped line-up–you can imagine that picking just one favourite was damn near impossible. So, here goes our recommended listening of the lot of potential chart-toppers:-
.
6. Brighter Days:
The Sammy Starr assisted ‘believe in yourself’ anthem.
5. eGo Driven: The piano driven, club-friendly track with verses boasting of So$aMan’s ego
4. Somebody Important:
You’ll can’t help but to bounce to the catchy–”Somebody Important.”
2. iDream – Feat. Rik Carey
1. And our favouristest of the bunch and must listen joint is… [drum-roll plz]….”So$ Major” feat. MDeez!
.
