DIARIES OF THE DATING: Office Romance That Never Was!!!

I recently started at a new firm and amidst the trauma of meeting an entire building of new people, (who seem unhealthily friendly on a freakishly consistent basis); and adjusting to working in a corporate environment, I almost instantly developed butterflies for an exotically good looking gent whom was introduced to me on my very first day.

First and foremost, let me put it out there that the place is not overflowing with options, so this may have been what sparked my need to venture off into uncharted territory. Or maybe the fact that I’ve never been one to partake in the cliché office romance enticed me, who knows! One thing is for sure, this man was gorgeous and I had to have him ^.^

During the course of the next few weeks, I subconsciously decided to make myself visible to this man as much as possible, all the while building up the courage to say…”Hi, I like you, check box (a) if you like me back or (b) if you don’t.” I know, it all seems very school girlish, but like I said, chasing behind a man-a coworker at that-was very new to me. Plus, the feeling I experienced whenever this man was within smelling distance was enough to make me do the unadvisable.

Long story short, after flirting with said guy so much so that even a blind man could pick up on my unsubtle advances, the feelings and gestures were being reciprocated. Hooray! He was the dirtiest of flirts and I enjoyed every minute of the texting, bumping into said guy in the elevator and of course pretending as if absolutely nothing had been going on between us among a room full of other coworkers. Well, that is until Mr. Hewhoshallremainnameless asked me out!

If I said I didn’t have fun with the dude, I’d be a damn lair. I had a hell of a time partying from 8pm to an ungodly hour in the morning, at so many different spots that I could vaguely recall the first. However, I learned that the man’s arrogance was enough to supply the needs of the entire cast of those orange oompah-loompahs from Jersey. Oh he was fine, well-kept and he knew it. Suffice to say…one night was all the romance was meant to be!

So, after a slight rough patch and awkwardness at the job, things are finally back to normal at work and there concluded my desire to ever hook-up with the staff. On continues my adventures ^.^
