Christina Aguilera was given the task of sending the late great blues idol–Etta James, off musically to her final resting place and as we all know; Mz. Aguilera is among the very few who can truly do justice to the blues singer’s songs especially our beloved–”At Last.”

James was laid to rest at a Los Angeles-area church today after passing away at 73.  Rev. Al Sharpton said Etta James should be remembered as a woman and an artist who “turned her pain into power.” Check out the video of Xtina’s tribute plus kind words and funeral pics below….

“I have to first of all say what an amazing honor it is for me to have been welcomed here today, invited here, to pay tribute to the great Ms. Etta James,” said an emotional Christina. “I went around the world throughout all my career saying that Ms. Etta James was my favorite singer in the whole wide world.”
